A change in medications

Mom has been having some trouble with a couple of things.
The first being that she has been having a lot of trouble with pain and therefore, she's been on a lot of medication. This has kept her sleepy most of the time. This is keeping her from enjoying her time with family, wich was the point of not having all the chemo in the first place. Secondly, she's been staying up at my place and I have a rather large king sized bed. It's tall and is hard for us short people to get into. This is  made even harder for mom who is weaker than normal and having some trouble with the pain medication. We were trying to keep her out of the hospital bed for a bit longer, but with her having trouble getting in and out of my bed, we have opted to have a bed brought in tonight so she is more comfortable.

The Hospice nurse was here today and has agreed to change some of the medication. We are opting for a more longer lasting pain medication and a secondary medication that will help with the pain medication.  (I won't be listing the medications she's on online) We are going to see if the new combination will help with some of the sedation issues and manage the pain better overall.

This should also help with her sleep pattern a bit.

I can not seem to figure out how to get the link to work yet, so I am going to post it in here. I have started a gofundme page for mom. Partly because of her bucket list and the other half is she has no life insurance and therefore, the burden will fall to me.  Hopefully, the link will be working on it's own page soon, but in the meantime, the link will be posted below.

  1. Great! I was all set to break into your home to steal all of mom's meds but since you refuse to list them here its just not going to be worth trying to get past the German Shepherd, and his side kick. Never mind everyone in your home has been to the target range recently and you are heavily armed. Fine! I'll go take my own meds. ;)
